LEOKAN

Leokan — Singer-Songwriter × Filmmaker

Leokan is a singer-songwriter and filmmaker. Under the name MarematicVision, Leokan also takes on a variety of client work. In 2024, the music video Ocean Sunshine won the Grand Prix in the “Takaoka Appeal” category at the 1st Takamachi Film Festival. Currently building MAREMA (稀間), a new kind of cinema photo studio, by hand in Takaoka City. Preparing for Otoginomori Fes on October 4, 2025. Working on the album COSMOSONGS.

While running the music café bar “Yorozu no Rare Ma” in Kichijoji, Tokyo, the café was forced to close. Leokan decided on the spot to film its final month, completing a 3-hour film Yorozu no Rare Ma and the album Marematic. On April 9, 2019, a one-day-only screening with live performance “Seizensō” was held at Shibuya WWW. The ultimate, unrepeatable last scene could only be witnessed by those present.

During filming, the album Marematic was simultaneously created and released on Bandcamp. The entire album became embedded within the film.

After relocating to Toyama, Leokan launched MarematicVision as a film production studio.

Offering a diverse range of visual and photo work — portraits, commercials, music videos, architecture films, short movies, consulting, and social media content. When commissioned for a graduation DVD, Leokan reimagined it as the cinematic film Kirakira Kirari to Let It Go, screened for one day only at Otabiza on March 20, 2023.

In 2024, Leokan embarked on a long-envisioned journey — writing songs in English and creating music videos along the way.

Traveling through rare beauty, setting it to poetry and music.
